Blackwell Out

So, Leeds United have departed with their resident whinger Kevin Blackwell. The loser, who was actually somehow the manager of one of the nation's biggest clubs has been sacked after a dismal start to the season.

Everyone is straight out with the comments along the lines of, "No-one wants to see anyone lose their job..." Well, that as it may be, but there is no denying that we all love a good managerial change.

I have been going to Leeds United games for well over a year now, without any excitement whatsoever, but I am already a bit giddy about Saturday's match versus Birmingham City at home. They'll probably lose, but at least I won't have to witness a match without any chances for Leeds, and then listen to old Blackie whining about how he hasn't had any money to spend, despite spending more than virtually all other clubs outside the Premiership.

The other great footballing cliché that is not true in the slightest is, "No-one wants to see red cards..." What a load of bollocks. Other than a superb goal, that is exactly what I want to see. The best match at the World Cup was clearly the Portugal-Holland game when every player got booked about 3 times and 4 players got sent off.
